Chris Jones Signs Five-Year, $158.75 Million Contract with Kansas City Chiefs

Contract Includes $60 Million Guaranteed

Agreement Reached After One-Year Deal and Pro Bowl Season

The Kansas City Chiefs have inked a long-term deal with star defensive tackle Chris Jones. On March 11, 2024, the team and Jones agreed to a five-year, $158.75 million contract, which includes a guaranteed $60 million.

Jones had previously played under a one-year, $17.3 million franchise tag in 2023. After an impressive Pro Bowl season, he held out for a lucrative multi-year contract.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach expressed his excitement about the deal, stating, "Chris is a generational talent, and we're thrilled to have him in Kansas City for the long term." Jones's presence solidifies the Chiefs' already formidable defense, which helped them win the Super Bowl in 2023.

According to reports, Jones received a $15 million signing bonus and a large chunk of guaranteed money in the first two years of the contract. This deal not only gives him financial security but also provides the Chiefs with stability on the defensive line for the foreseeable future.
